Resting in the Security of the Promises of God
Having security in our Spiritual life gives us confidence to be able to live effectively and be able to impact other people through encouragement. Our security lies in the hope of our Creator God's Promises from His Word and living out those promises by the aid of the Holy Spirit.

Paul wraps up his focus on the return of Christ, tying together the 2 previous themes of understanding the hope we have in Christ Jesus and our position as we awaits his return. His desire is to see the church encouraged and built up, doing the Master’s will with an eye to the sky for His return.

Merlin Miller continues the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 10th message titled Ready: Awake and Sober taken from 1 Thessalonians 5:1-8. Paul continues to focus on the return of Christ, this time his imagery of waking and sleeping is about our readiness for that return.
9: Ready: Understanding Hope
Merlin Miller continues the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 9th message titled Ready: Understanding Hope taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Now Paul turns his attention to making sure that these believers are ready for the return of Jesus Christ, beginning with solidifying their understanding the hope we have in Christ’s return.
8: Loving
Merlin Miller continues the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 8th message titled Loving taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12. Paul continues to flesh out his earlier prayer by now focusing on the love he wanted these believers to have - not just for each other but ultimately for those who do not yet follow Jesus.
7: Sanctified
Merlin Miller continues the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 7th message titled Sanctified taken from 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8. If the theme from the prior text was Paul’s desire to see the believers in Thessalonica established in their faith, the theme in this text is his desire to see them sanctified. Paul exhorted them to live holy lives, especially in regards to sexual relations.
6: Established
Merlin Miller returns to the study of 1 Thessalonians with this 6th message titled Established taken from 1 Thessalonians 3:1-13. Paul returns to the reason for his writing - to make sure of & acknowledge that these new Thessalonians believers were established in the faith. This text also serves as a transition from the opening remarks to the rest of the letter.
Living Hope
It’s Resurrection Sunday, and to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Merlin Miller preaches from 1 Peter 1:3-5. In one long sentence, Peter powerfully declares the truth of the resurrection of Jesus and what that means for us. Because of God’s power, we have a living hope!
5: Our Glory and Joy
Merlin Miller continues preaching through the book of 1 Thessalonians. This fifth message is taken from 1 Thessalonians 2:13-20. In this text Paul returns to his earlier giving of thanks for the Thessalonians and their reception of the Gospel, and he communicates his sincere desire to come see them and how he sees them in the Lord.
4: Entrusted with the Gospel
Merlin Miller continues preaching through the book of 1 Thessalonians. This fourth message is taken from 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12. In this text Paul continues to share how they have been entrusted with the Gospel, but this time instead of focusing on what they were proclaiming, he focuses on how they conducted themselves.

This third message is taken from 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6. In the previous text Paul looked at how the Gospel was received, in this text he focuses on how he has been entrusted with the Gospel and how it was shared.
2: We Give Thanks to God
Merlin Miller continues preaching through the book of 1 Thessalonians. This second message is taken from 1 Thessalonians 1:2-10. Paul follows up his salutation with some reasons why he is thankful to God for the Thessalonian believers. His thanks involves their reception of the Gospel.

Merlin Miller begins a new series preaching through the book of 1 Thessalonians. This first message is an introductory message taken from 1 Thessalonians 1:1.
5: The Joy of the Remnant
Merlin Miller concludes the study of Zephaniah with a fifth, and final, message taken from Zephaniah 3:14-20. In light of the dark picture of judgment that has been painted, the joy present in these verses, from both the perspective of the saved remnant and from God Himself, is almost palpable!
